Have you signed up through the church for RightNow Media? This gives you access to MANY resources, especially for kids!
Additionally, our church does 'Bible Engagement Project' together.
Bible Engagement Project is how volunteers access the weekly curriculum, and it is synchronized with each age group
so parents can always know what was taught in a particular week and do followup and engagement in
Bible Engagement Project Family Devotionals & other discussion.
Our Calvary Kids start church with their parents in the sanctuary, to be guided by parents into learning worship,
then are dismissed for Calvary Kids.

what to expect in calvary kids
We want our kids to not only casually listen to a Bible story, we want them to participate in it & to bring it home & into their lives to ponder & utilize. This happens by Biblical truths having a chance to sink in via Bible use, games, parental home interactions, & activities and crafts. Please have your child bring a Bible or ask us to supply one, even your pre-reading kids can use a picture/story Bible and feel much more involved. Because safety is a priority in our children's programs, we have two adults per classroom, fully background checked, as well as cameras. We want our parents to know how much we care about their priorities. During the lesson time, one Bible verse will be re-enforced throughout the lesson that we hope parents will help their child to memorize. Some of our goals... training disciples, fun, parents knowing each other, and also... not wanting a teacher to ever get burn-out. We love to get volunteers who want to be part of the monthly rotation of teachers not just because 'we want teachers'. Nope. We want volunteers because the variety provides involvement, passion, discipleship for both kids and adults, safety, and because volunteers get a lot more opportunity to build relationship with other parents and adults, which is both fun and supportive for them. Volunteers typically have a blast and we have an extremely low rate of turnover because parents like being with us all.
Curriculum we use is from the Bible Engagement Project, lessons are provided for each age group, and are accessible to every parent and every teacher and even in spanish, from the comfort of their own home. This allows the church to be united in studying scripture on the same topics at the same time. This year, we're using lessons titled 'Listen' in the Bible Engagement Project.
If you are looking for a good recommendation on a Bible for your children, start by considering having them try to read Bible portions from diverse translations online, utilizing a site like YouVersion which has multiple versions online. If they have difficulty reading a particular version or stumble a lot over that version's word choices, it might not be the correct version for them right now. (For example, a child who cannot read would do better with a so-called 'Story Bible'... something they can listen to as you read to them. Ultimately, you want to choose a version they can read or look at on their own, knowing they can change versions later. our personal favorite way for your child to have a personal God-relationship begins with you interacting with your child and supporting them in things such as daily devotionals, such as those on Bible Engagement Project, but also in working on scripture memory, such as our Junior Bible Quiz team which helps a child gain a full overview of the Bible, and know roughly 550 scriptures/ doctrinal points and have fun competing utilizing these. (A version that Junior Bible Quiz has officially decided to use nationwide is the New Living Translation, and it is available in 'The Fire Bible' which conforms in its side-panel explanations with doctrine of the Assemblies of God. This Fire Bible in the New Living Translation is the Bible our church has begun to give to families who want a Bible but whose family has difficulty affording to purchase one for their child.)

Our range of classes and range of ages in those classes depends upon 2 factors: 1. quantity of volunteers and 2. quantity of children. During the summer, (June in particular), our numbers drop quite a bit, so we typically have a 'one class for all ages' approach, but by September, have no less than two classes, and want to have up to four active classrooms. Due to our rotational style of parent-teachers and volunteers, to run each class takes 2 volunteers, so a month's class parent-teachers and volunteers requires no less than 8 screened background checked people per room ! If you'd like to be a volunteer or a parent-teacher, we have a variety of needs: some just observe, others choose to teach. We need both observers and teachers, so come talk to us! We also have a more 'Youth' aged program for youth 6th to 8th grade called 'Calvary Next', and this takes another set of volunteers. Interested? Talk to Pastor Jim..
Help us out! Bass cash shopping... donate? thanks!
Tearza is facilitating our Bass Cash booth on the first Sunday of each month, co-tangent with the lesson being taught. Our children earn bass cash through things like bringing their Bibles, paying attention, answering questions... even in bringing offerings. These are training for adulthood. We welcome your donations, now and all year. Here's a list of possibilities. Thanks so much for helping our kids by supplying our Bass Cash booth.
